Monday, January 24th, 2011 marked the 38th annual March for Life in Washington, DC. About 400,000 people rallied to protest the 1973 Supreme Court decisions Roe v. Wade and Doe v. Bolton. We somberly memorialized the 52 million or more babies legally aborted in the US since Roe v. Wade.
I attend the March with mixed emotions. This was my 7th, and each represents another year that the decision stands. Another year of around 1.3 million abortions. The numbers are staggering. It’s easy to get depressed and discouraged. On the other hand, I’m encouraged by how many people are working for change. I love to see how many March attendees are in high school, college, or their late 20s. The pro-life movement is gaining momentum. We will not give up this struggle.
I’ll write additional posts on this when I have more time.
