I started blogging in 2008 to fulfill a requirement for my course in Online Journalism. At first, my attempts to be relevant for a broad audience were trite and uninteresting. So I started writing primarily about my personal life. I developed a modest following of family and friends who were interested in keeping in touch.
Over time, I’ve honed my blogging style and gained the attention of a somewhat wider audience. My subject matter and goals are evolving. This will still never be a single-issue blog. I write about things for which I am passionate. I hope my writing will get people thinking more critically and discussing openly. I hope people will smile, laugh, cry, yell, and – most importantly – think about the issues that come up as we interact as a community.
I will still post about myself sometimes. Shared human experience is an important part of community. Sometimes my writing is serious, sometimes light or whimsical. I invite you to come along on this journey of my Wandering Mind.
